Framework

The PortAberta project – Research Portal for Open Science – has as promoters the University of Minho (UMinho) and the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB).

The two Higher Education and Research Institutions share the need to establish a CRIS (Current Research Information Systems) and Research Portal, as a tool to support and strengthen their statement in research and development and their commitment to Open Science.
The PortAberta project results from the similar paths that the University of Minho and the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança have taken in the field of open access and open science, both being recognized institutions in these domains, and both facing the need to establish their research portals aligned with these paths and leveraging the systems and tools they already have.
